Hi!
This has been implemented in AIDE 1.0.2 as a premium feature. AIDE can
automatically download the Jelly Beans documentation ZIP file from
Google's servers. Aborted downloads can be resumed. Of course you can
also put the documentation on the device using your PC.
On Android 3.0 (Honeycomb) or later AIDE does not need to extract the
documentation ZIP file and the size of the ZIP file is only 150 MB.
On devices with an earlier Android version the files need to be
extracted. AIDE does that automatically. Please note that on SDCARDs
that are formatted with the FAT32 filesystem the per-file overhead is
very large and the Android documentation consists of many small files.
The extracted doc files take on my HTC Desire take up 750 MB for
example.
