Hi, I'm about to roll out an implementation of GCM on a server and need to open the appropriate firewalls by IP.

Is there anywhere I can find the IP address range for android.googleapis.com ?

Thanks!

I am wondering exactly the same thing. I have not seen GCM actually work and I am wondering if it is a firewall issue.

See this note in the GCM architectural overview:

Note: If your organization has a firewall that restricts the traffic to or from the Internet, you'll need to configure it to allow connectivity with GCM. The ports to open are: 5228, 5229, and 5230. GCM typically only uses 5228, but it sometimes uses 5229 and 5230. GCM doesn't provide specific IPs. It changes IPs frequently. We recommend against using ACLs but if you must use them, take a broad approach such as the method suggested in this support link.

Hi Katie,
We are in the process of rolling out MDM solution that uses GCM. Since GCM do not provide specific IP's, our IT department's firewall policy restriction require atleast subnet range or broader classification like of Class A or Class B IP.

Would subnet info available for GCM?

Hi Katie, unfortunately the link at the end of your message is broken, and I haven't been able to find anything else on the topic.
Is there any more information anywhere?
Thank you
