adb not running, auto closes

when i open the adb.exe file. the command line comes up for a second,
then closes on its own. what's going on here?

You need to explicitly open a terminal ("MSDOS command prompt" under
Windows or something along those lines) and run adb from there.
Otherwise, a new terminal is created just for the duration during
which adb runs, and adb by default exits almost immediately.

thanks much! the radio update went perfect, however the fastboot
process is not working
i've installed the driver

Does your device properly report that it's in fastboot mode when in
the bootloader display? Does fastboot on your PC report anything with
'fastboot devices" ?

yes, when i plug the phone in the bootloader reads FASTBOOT, but my
vista pc doesnt recognize that it's connected

All right, there's clearly a pattern of issues with fastboot on
Windows, and it looks like what we thought would be a working
workaround doesn't work for everyone.

Technically, another option would be to have an ota package (which
gets flashed with the same mechanism as the radio image). I'll
investigate whether we can repackage the files that way and have HTC
distribute those too.
