Ana is feeling really stupid, but she asks anyway.

Please post a link to the sample DAISY 2.02 file on the Project site.

So I'm still having problems finding a daisy 2.02 book. I tried the ONCE, but I need to be a member. I tried the Sample files on the DAISY Consortium site, but when I select 2.02 from the dropdown list, I get a page-not-found error. I tried downloading the first item listed under Douay-Rheims on the DAISY Scripture site

but the app doesn't "see" the file. I remember finding a sample file on the Android DAISY Project site, but I can no longer seem to find it, probably because I'm feeling like this really isn't as difficult as I'm making it. Ana isn't quite having a meltdown, but .... maybe.

thanks, and sorry for all the posts.

Ana,
You're one of the brave, or possibly unwitting, pioneers it seems in
terms of trying to find suitable content to listen to. I wasn't aware
of this web site and have updated the relevant wiki page to include it
and some general advice that might help you to download a suitable
file (the NIV new testament). Please see
http://code.google.com/p/android-daisy-epub-reader/wiki/SampleDAISYBooks
for the latest instructions and advice. This wiki page includes direct
links to at least 3 suitable sample books (one for each of the sites
listed).

The file you tried is formatted as a CD-ROM image file, which could be
used to create a CD-ROM if you have suitable software and hardware on
your computer. I'm downloading it currently to see what it contains.
Generally I'd suggest you pick files that end in .zip these are
relatively common compared to the .iso format for DAISY books, and the
wiki page now contains some advice that may help you to successfully
download, unpack, copy (and then finally listen to) suitable sample
books.

As mentioned in my reply to your other message, don't apologise for
asking these questions. I'm learning from your investigations and
experiences and you're helping me to help others to find straight-
forward ways to download and listen to a variety of DAISY books.

Julian
