If you want to tweet on your Android tablet then you are going to want to use TweetCaster. This third party app tops the stock Twitter app on tablets by leaps and bounds. The user interface is laid out very nicely with all the key features on the left hand side of the screen. There is even a function where you change from viewing tweets to pictures, or even links. To top it all off, TweetCaster is able to handle multiple Twitter accounts with ease. All around, this is a much better Twitter app than the official Twitter app, and it’s available for free if you are ok with some non-obtrusive ads.

The official Facebook Android app is designed for phones, and is just stretched to fit tablet-sized screens. Friend Me for Facebook makes use of all that screen real estate by separating all the information into three different panels. You are able to access your profile, friends, photos, groups, messages, and more all from the main screen in a very easy to use layout. When you tap on a status update it expands to the right to show the whole update or picture along with all the comments. To top it all off, Facebook game status updates are blocked by default, so you don’t have to worry about how your friends Farms are doing.

While people may view Skitch as a doodling app, but it would like to be called an annotation app. With Skitch, you are able to add notes or doodles to pictures or other images. The app gives you all kinds of tools so that you can do things like add text, arrows, shapes, and even free hand drawings to your images. Annotations are easy to move, so if you misplace a long block of text you don’t have to delete it and start over; you can simply move it to its new home. We’ve also have more fun than we care to admit using the built in Google Maps to doodle on map screen captures.

Ustream is all about making it easy to watch or create live video content, and the Android tablet app does so while looking amazing. This app takes advantage of the larger tablet screen to create a great user interface. You are able to browse current live streams, recently uploaded videos, or upcoming scheduled streams. While watching a video, you are able to either watch it full screen, or have the video share the screen with comments from other viewers. Since this is Ustream, you are also able to create your own streaming video right from your tablet by using your built in camera and your internet connection.

It isn’t often that you can say an app provides a better user experience than the original website but Craigslist HD for Tablets comes pretty close. There are no pages full of ugly blue links in this app — It completely transforms the look and feel of Craigslist. Where this app really shines is displaying pictures: all pictures are viewed in a scrollable thumbnail gallery at the bottom of each listing. You can easily save, share, or reply to listings without having to search for an email address hidden somewhere in the listing. Once you use this app, you will have a hard time going back to the Craigslist website.
