I'm not able to do it.

If there is a team looking for an idea :

An IDE which convert automatically a iPhone project (project param,
code, resources...) into a Eclipse Android project :->

Sure : Google will appreciate !

I was toying around with an idea a while back.  Some code that would "pre-debug" other code.  You know, so you wouldn't have any bugs at all when you get to production.  Ever!  It would be tough, but I'm sure Google would appreciate that too.

Let me know what you think.

Keeping in line with the previous suggestions I recommend that someone
undertake a project to develop aeronautical capabilities in the Sus
scrofa using android. Google would definitely appreciate that.

2. i never seen iPhone API but i mean it will use complete different
libraries and system - i mean it's impossible
3. who would want it and why?

I've worked in a company which developped C code which uses a custom
lib.. There was the option to generate Windows or Mac executable.

On Linux, there are also some generic UI libraries (GTK ?) , which are
available to generate Windows or Linux application.

In suppose on the mobile industry they code an application only once,
and generate Windows CE (for differents kind of phone having different
kind of hardware capabilities).... application.

I think it would be good to be able to import a Symbian, Windows CE,
iPhone project and generate a gPhone project.
It is a lot of work, but Google would appreciate :->
gPhone will have thousand of applications for almost no coding/dev.
Of course it won't remove the need for testing/validation...

but seriously, how about this idea: put the android phone with ADC
convertors on top of a Lego mindstorms robot. It should be downwards
facing so that the camera can take pictures of the floor to navigate
autonomously and using the location feature. In time, a helicopter
robot would allow it to fly.

Great idea !
Even if I'm a bit old for Lego.
I would have enjoyed such a games some years ago.

Actually you can create the UI, think about capabilities.... but you
will have to wait several month before doing the 'real' thing : an
emulator capable of using USB/wifi on the PC, or real phone...

Hi

We summited a .net compact framework to Eclipse Android project as a
developer tool in ADC1

(when such things appeared to be welcome)

Don't really need to tell you that the judges did not rate it to
highly (not being visual studio developers, and not having access to
the appropriate IDE) though not bottom in all categories.

Not sure if we will battle on with it, or make it available to other
developers.

Cheers

Adit

I've been wanting to do something with a mindstorms robot for years.
Now that I've worked on my android entry for 3 months I don't know
anymore though. A software tool with no hardware components is hard
enough, mine is still months away from being complete for even basic
real world uses. And I really love the idea of thousands of people
using my software, which just won't happen with a mindstorms app.

I thought about using the Wii console concepts to make a formula one
game coupled with the phone accelerometer. so you would handle the
phone like a steering wheel in the landscape mode and you would have
a lot of fun.

Anybody interested?

I am not a hardware guy so I wonder what extra hardware/controllers
one would need to connect
the handset output USB port to the robot.
(Is there no competitor to mindstorms? I hate to advertise for them!).
Just imagine, the robot would be semi-autonomous. You would send it
the big commands - "Go potty in the corner". The robot would know how
to get to the corner using the GPS and camera so it doesn't crash into
the wall and also match earlier pictures of its paths in its database
to learn new paths.

I'd be happy to see the opposite: Android -> iPhone :-)
