jb-dev build failure, missing phone-xhdpi-1024-dalvik-heap.mk?

I'm investigating a report that the jb-dev build fails with the following error:

build/core/product_config.mk:193: ***
_nic.PRODUCTS.[[build/target/product/vbox_x86.mk]]:
"frameworks/native/build/phone-xhdpi-1024-dalvik-heap.mk" does not
exist. Stop.
** Don't have a product spec for: 'full'
** Do you have the right repo manifest?

I'm unable to reproduce. Has anyone else seen this?

I suspect that it's related to the original author trying to switch
branches with a "repo forall -c git checkout" command, instead of repo
init. That doesn't work, because the list of projects isn't the same,
and that causes frameworks/native to go missing (along with many other
new projects)

In your existing client, "repo init -b android-4.1.1_r1 ; repo sync".
That'll only download the parts you don't already have.
