Hey Guys

Demystify this for everyone please.

1) Is the Android TV source a part of the AOSP, or is it a separate one?
2) If its the same, how do you build AOSP for an Android TV device?
3) Will google work with everyone and anyone to bring an Android TV device to market, or is it currently only interested in the big vendors?

Thanks

Many important bits are part of AOSP. If you 1) download binaries for the Nexus Player from https://developers.google.com/android/nexus/drivers 2)  `lunch aosp_fugu-userdebug` and then 3) `make`, you can then flash the resulting images to a nexus player and boot into a working android tv environment.

Look under <AOSP_ROOT>/device/fugu to see the specific setup used on the Nexus Player

You can look at device/asus/fugu for specifics on setting up a device to build for AndroidTV.  Of course this will not have any of the proprietary Google apps, just android with the LeanBack launcher.
