Hi there,

I found the banner message at the top of Android docs been updated recently, as we can see here: https://source.android.com/docs/whatsnew/release-notes

It says:

Effective in 2026, to align with our trunk stable development model and ensure platform stability for the ecosystem, we will publish source code to AOSP in Q2 and Q4. For building and contributing to AOSP, we recommend utilizing android-latest-release instead of aosp-main. The android-latest-releasemanifest branch will always reference the most recent release pushed to AOSP. For more information, see Changes to AOSP.

To be clear, we are not going to see any code drop in Q1 and Q3 with QRPs?

Hi,

Reiterating what was published, going forward you will see source pushes (release branches) in AOSP in Q2 and Q4. There will be no source pushes in Q1 and Q3.

We'll continue to send updates on this mailing list when the source is published in AOSP in Q2 and Q4.

Thank you,
Regards,
