Problem in getting the Android source

Hi Android team

I am facing problem when i am trying to get the android source from the serverrepo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-4.0.1_r1


I did following steps

1 . mkdir android
2. cd android
3.  repo init -u https://android.googlesource.com/platform/manifest -b android-4.0.1_r1


Initially it looked something is happening promising. But unfortunately it failed with some mysterious message that couldnt understand :)

This suggests some trouble with the unix access rights to the .repoconfig and/or .repoconfig/gnupg directory in your home directory.

My first instinct would be "delete ~/.repoconfig and retry".

Digging deeper, the way I read it, the first line warns that the access rights on the directory in question allow other unix users to read those files. Since GPG is used to store private signature keys, it's a good warning but it should be hardmless in this case. All the other lines are saying that your unix user can't write to that directory, and from there it can't verify the signature of the repo tool.

This might suggest that you've run repo in the past as another user (via su or sudo), or (less likely) that your home directory is on an unexpected filesystem that doesn't handle unix acces rights the way repo expects them.
