building aosp, need to create sdcard

I am building aosp on ubuntu 14.04 and it seems to have been successful ..

Now, I am trying to figure out where is the utility to make a bootable sdcard so i can try this on a android capable single board computer? I see this page from google, but it doesn't help much as i would have to go a research how to do it all ..

Is there not a simple utility that will create the sdcard for me from the output of the compilation???  seriously why does this all have to be so cryptic?
