We bought a "Moto TC Monster" toy truck which is controlled by bluetooth.

We have OpenCV working on our Android phone and plan to try to make the toy into a robot by putting the phone on top.

Has anyone here used the "Moto TC Monster" and Android phone to make a robot.   I am looking for the bluetooth commands, if someone has them or knows where they are please post. We can probably figure out things by just trying but it would be easier if we knew the commands.

Here is the $19 toy truck on Amazon:

Thanks,

It has left, straight, right steering, not proportional steering.

It can go forward and backward and seems to have more fine control than just on/off.

By making the software turn right for 1/10th of a second, etc, I think we can get the software to steer better than we humans are.

But if for $19 you can play around with robotics, kind of Amazing.

Hey,

it's been already three years since you made this publication, so I'm really hoping that you still get to see this.

I'm a CS student and, together with a friend, we took on a little side project one of our teachers proposed, which was exactly to take the Moto TC Monster and make it self-drivable. We just started and I'm messing around with it, and I was trying to get the bluetooth commands as well, but having some issues. I'm willing to test the commands by hand and see what they do, but I can't figure out how to even pair the car to my computer or anything like that, and see all the available commands. Our professor suggested Bluetooth LE Explorer, from the Microsoft Store, but it doesn't seem to detect the car.

If you were able to do just that, or have any suggestion, could you share them with me? I'd be eternally thankful!
