to ABC Club

Good Morning ABCers,  some notes from the meeting in Nov

Checking account  reviewed- no new income, no new expenses.

New meeting location: Starting Dec 11  starting at 0600 pm - Hope to see you  ALL there...

I checked out the opportunity to meet at Edward Little High School in Auburn. The director of their adult ed ask if there is anyone interested in giving a class on a hobby or subject  Several other Beekeeping clubs in the state use schools in there area for their meeting sites. It is a class room, we can move things around to what ever we want but the do ask that we try to put things back close to where they were. It should work out well for the ABC as it is- No cost to the club still an in town location,  and most importantly LOOONG term meeting place. We can use this during the school year Sept through June,  It will be the second Wednesday of the month, (this is flexible if we decide that we need to pick a different day), keep in mind if the Adult Ed classes are canceled then the Club meeting would be canceled. I will try to send to a notice by email if that should happen.  The room is open to us from 530  till   0900,  so this should allow the club plenty of time for the meeting, speakers, questions and shooting the bull. The meetings time is not changing Club meeting  0600 to  0630, speaker / presentation 630 to 0800,  interaction time 0800 to 0830,  then pack up and leave. Everyone in attendance agreed that we should start meeting at Edward Little. I will send a map along in a separate email  when I send out the meeting reminder.

It was agreed that the club will purchase the Club Logo items (at wholesale cost) that are available and  allow for presenting a hat  or mug to speakers that do not change the club for presenting.  The club has  hats, mugs and t-shirts  that would make a GREAT Holiday gift.

The scheduled speaker had to cancel at the last minute so, we had open discussion.  I brought in  the feeder tray that I use to feed my bees. It is made about 2" tall area is the same size as the  inner cover,  layer of 1/2"  hardware cloth, and 3/8" bottom rim board. This allows the bees to get the feed from anywhere in the hive.

It is time to wrap your hives if you are going too. I plan top wrap on only three sides (two sides and back).

We talked about the pros and cons of screen boards -

An opportunity to support your club....
We need to elect new officers for the club,  PLEASE  help keep your club going. Let me know if you are interested / willing to take on any office-  President , Vice President, Treasurer,  Web site, meeting note taker.
Bee keeping skills are not needed to fill an office!

Please send any comments to me.
