A pair of honeybee related Auburn Adult Ed classes this Spring

Hello ABC Members,

There are a pair of honeybee related courses available through Auburn Adult education that we wanted to let you know about.  Both courses have a connection to our club.

The first is "Insight to Bee Keeping" on Tuesday, February 11, 2014.  This one day class will be given by past ABC President Blaine Richardson.  Blaine will discuss things to consider when deciding whether or not beekeeping is for you.  Topics like time commitment, storage space required, apiary space and equipment will be covered.  If you know someone who has expressed and interest in your bee keeping, but isn't sure they want to take the plunge, this course is for them. 

Cost for "Insight to Bee Keeping" is $12.00 and proceeds will be donated to the Androscoggin Bee Club.

The second Auburn Adult Ed offering is called "Beginners Bee Class" which will be taught by recently minted EAS Master Beekeeper Chris Rogers.  This course begins February 24, 2014 and the cost is $50.00.  If you know someone who's expressed a definite interest in keeping bee's, but has not signed up for an introductory course this is the one if you are local.

Chris will also be our March ABC speaker, so he's certainly fulfilling his educational role as an EAS Master Beekeeper.  More bee keepers in Androscoggin County will result in a stronger local bee keeping community, so please spread the word.
