The Andover Township Police Department arrested Gregory S. Whitehead age 47 of Montague NJ for aggravated assault.  Officers responded to the Econo-Lodge located on Rt 206 in Andover Township for a report of a female being assaulted.  Upon arrival it was learned Whitehead had been intoxicated and became angry over the taking of a cell phone battery.  Whitehead began to strike the female several times in the face causing injuries to the victim.  Officers placed Whitehead into custody and transported him back to the station for processing.  He was charged with third degree aggravated assault.  Whitehead was brought to the Morris County Jail by the Sussex County Sheriff's Department.  The Lakeland Emergency Squad responded and transported the victim to Newton Medical Center.
