The Andover Township Police Department arrested David A. G. Martin age 31, of Peekskill, New York for weapons offenses subsequent to an incident at a local landscaping business.  Officers were dispatched to the business off of Limecrest Road for a report of a male subject who had brandished a gun.  Martin had reportedly left the scene in a red Ford F150 in the direction of Newton-Sparta Road.  Within minutes the vehicle was seen traveling Newton-Sparta Road towards Newton.  Andover Township Police officers conducted a motor vehicle stop with the vehicle on Lawrence Road where Martin had been detained following further investigation into the incident.  Recovered at the scene was a PSM45 BB handgun which was determined to have been displayed during a verbal dispute over payment between Martin and the landscaping business owner. 

As a result of the investigation Martin was charged with Terroristic Threats – Third Degree, Unlawful Possession Of Weapons – Third Degree, Possession Of Weapons For Unlawful Purposes – Second Degree, and Aggravated Assault – Fourth Degree.  Martin was lodged in the Morris County Jail pending a first appearance.  Newton Police Department assisted at the scene.
