I'm just checking in to know if there are any future plans to support E-sword modules on And Bible app. I have been using modules from My Bible on And Bible and it works superb.

I also know that MySword modules are also supported on And Bible. However, MySword has a feature which allows E-Sword modules to run on their app. Just curious as to if this feature is feasible at some point in the future on the And Bible app. If yes, then this would definitely be a great addition to the app.

Created feature request: https://github.com/AndBible/and-bible/issues/2743

If e-sword module is somewhat similar sqlite document it is easy to implement. But I haven't checked that.

Esword modules are encrypted. We did discuss on CW a long time ago esword support and found that the - then - implementation relied on obfuscation and was easily accessed with standard Linux libraries - we got then a bunch of very unfriendly emails from esword’s lead which IIRC contained legal threats for breaking DMA etc. when we pointed out that there was nothing to break esword changed overnight their module framework .

Today all esword own modules are encrypted but user supplied ones are not. Unless something else has changed since.

Implementing this will alllw you access to the plethora of user stuff but not to the substantive material everyone hankers for - NIV etc

Sent from my phone. Please forgive misspellings and weird “corrections”
