Dear all,
Final thread following up on activities from the LP9 LOD People (asynchronous) activity. The third activity that we began back in December was the collection of some sample data from various digital prosopographical and other
person-data publications. We have begun compiling this data in a repository at <https://github.com/DigiClass/LOD-People/tree/main/sample-data>,
with information on the minimum data we would like in the Readme.
I think the point of collecting these small, bitesize dumps of data (rather than simply listing to the big repos and APIs of live content) was to have something manageable to explore, experiment with converting to one or more
interchange format, try out in any proposed software, etc.
So far the repo holds some ttl from Epigraphic Database Heidelberg, and a directory and readme for Digital Prosopography of the Roman Republic—but as far as I can see no data yet. I was planning to add some SNAP RDF, but didn’t
get around to it, and I have a couple other projects I’m actively exploring extracting small dumps from. There are also a bunch of suggestions in the
Github issue,
that we haven’t tracked down and dumped yet. But I’m sure in this list alone we have dozens more projects who would be willing to share 100–1000 person records in a non-proprietary format to play with!
Please feel free to create and add data yourself (by asking for push rights or via pull request), or to propose something in the ticket or here onlist.
Many thanks!
Gabby
