Allen Street Farmers Market
Inside the amazingly beautiful
Hunter Park Garden House
South on Clifford at Kalamazoo Street – small lot and street parking available.
So here we are at the last market of the 2011 season! I rarely take the liberty of speaking for the scores of amazingly diverse, talented and hard working people who make this market possible, but today will offer a heartfelt thank-you to all who have faithfully patronized the Allen Street Farmers Market. Together, we sustain this robust and viable local food source not only for the neighborhood but the region. And, say, we seem to have quite a bit of fun along the way, don’t we?
Welcome Ben Hassenger back to our last encore market from
4p-6p, along with his guitar and ukulele for a rousing session of silly to
sensitive songs that will leave you chuckling and charmed.
Now here’s just a sampling of what we’ll find this week at the market:
Stone Circle Bakery: great rustic local bread – fresh baked!
Applegarth Honey: wonderful local honey!
Green Eagle Farm: potatoes, arugula salad mix, radish and more!
Ofilia's: enchilada dinners, chips and salsa!
Hickory Knoll Farms Creamery: 3 hard cheeses and 4 chevre!
CBI's Giving Tree Farm: spinach, cabbage, radishes and tea!
Heavenly Acres: hoping to have more of those fantastic apples!
Tomac Pumpkin Patch: syrup, gourds, pumpkins, squash and pumpkin baked goods!
Dry Bucket: hopefully more of those Michigan cranberries, brussel sprouts, sweet potatoes and more!
Peace Works: T’s, onsies and jewelry!
Wishing you and yours a wonderful winter season, and we’ll see you next May at the market!
Warm Regards,
Hollie
