Hello neighbors,

Spring is here! Are you planning a garden in your yard, on your deck, on your balcony, or even on your window sill? Here is a lovely invitation from Slow Food DC.

Slow Food DC, Euclid Street Community Garden, and Ward 1 Mutual Aid cordially invite you to “Share a Seed,” a socially distanced event in Ward 1Share a Seed is a community-centric project designed to connect more people with the land, growing, and one another.

Share a Seed aims to create abundance in a time of scarcity by leveraging the solidarity economy to connect communities with the tools and confidence to grow their own food (and flowers!). We do this by reaching out to would-be green thumbs, forming partnerships, and by sharing resources and knowledge within and across communities.

The event will require attendees to mask up, offer hand sanitizer, and include:

  • Tours of the garden and volunteer opportunities to help get the garden ready for planting by doing some light weeding and clean up.
  • Collection of seeds and garden materials for Share a Seed.
  • Collection of community essentials and vaccination information provided by Ward 1 Mutual Aid.
  • Opportunity to learn about growing, mutual aid, and enjoy the day!

This event will be free and open to everyone. Please let us know if you can join us.

Very best,

We need everyone in our community to pre-register for a vaccination appointment by going to vaccinate.dc.gov or calling 1-855-363-0333. Already vaccinated or pre-registered? Reach out to friends, family, coworkers, and neighbors and help them pre-register. Together we can save lives and end this pandemic. #DCHOPE
