ANC Ed, Youth, and Family Committee: TOMORROW (10/25)

Good Afternoon Neighbors!

Don't forget, ANC 1A's monthly Education, Youth, and Family Committee Meeting is happening TOMORROW, Wednesday (10/25), 7 PM - 8:30 PM

The Fiscal Year (FY) 2025 budget process begins now! Each agency is preparing its annual operating budgets to submit to the Mayor. Mayor Bowser will use that information to formulate the city's penultimate budget....almost there! The DC Council has the final crack at it; they will hold public hearings and spend a lot of time haggling before they finalize the annual fiscal budget through a series of votes. Then, we send the DC budget to Congress for their approval (😡).

This month's agenda will focus on a series of letters to various agencies the committee has identified through previous meetings and community events that need additional resources to serve our community's youth and families better. Please note that these are DRAFTS. I expect we will discuss anything that needs to be added/cut at tomorrow's meeting. THANK YOU Marisa Goldstein for your comments and edits!
