Zoom regularly provides new versions of the Zoom desktop client and mobile app to release new features and fix bugs. We recommend updating to the latest version when it is available to receive the best video and audio experience.

Note: If the desktop client was installed with the MSI installer by you or your IT team, AutoUpdate is disabled by default and the Check for Updates button is also removed. Please contact your IT team or Zoom account admin for help with updating.

Note: The Enhanced Meeting Summaries with OCR in Zoom and Ability to pre-approve users for automatic local recording features have been pulled from the release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Synchronized presence from Zoom to Microsoft, Customizable week start day in calendar settings, and Ability to configure working hours and location features have been pulled from the release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Zoom Calendar advanced room support and Badge notification enhancements features have been pulled from the release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Zoom IQ Meeting Summary and Continuous Meeting Chat file and images synchronization features have been pulled from release due to compatibility issues and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Collect external participants' emails for meetings and Cloud recording support for sign language interpretation features have been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The enablement of Breakout Rooms 100 and the continuous meeting chat feature have been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Enhancements to Translated Captioning notifications
When a participant enables translated captions, they are prompted to select their speaking language (the language they will be speaking) and their translation language (the language in which they want to view closed captions). Additionally, all other participants in the meeting are prompted to select their speaking language, so that any participant who has translated captioning enabled can view captions accurately in their preferred language. This will not automatically turn on captions and translation for everyone; users must select speaking and translation languages in order to enable and view captions. This requires desktop version 5.12.9 or higher.

Note: The Share in-meeting chat to Zoom Team Chat and Enhanced filters for Closed engagements tab features were pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Internal calling between Zoom Phone to Zoom Contact Center and Enhancement to Salesforce integration features have been pulled from release due to issues with deployment and will be available in another upcoming release.

Note: The Create, remove, rename breakout rooms after launch feature was pulled from release due to issues with deployment, and will be available in another upcoming release.

Show a preview of IM messages in system notification - ShowIMMessagePreview
Enabled by default, this can disable the message previews in system notifications when an IM message is received.

Zoom's latest release, branded now as "Zoom Workplace", reflects the app's expanding set of features with a refreshed user interface, including cosmetic and functional changes to the client and meeting screens.

The version 6.0.0 Zoom app now requires Windows 10 or iOS 13. Those still running Windows 8 or lower, or iOS versions 12 or lower, will be unable to upgrade past Zoom version 5.17 (which will only be updated with important security enhancements, and not feature improvements). Similarly, older Android devices that do not have an ARM processor will be unable to upgrade to the Zoom mobile app version 6.0.0 and beyond.

Users can now choose from several color themes, including the expected Light and Dark themes. Those using Light theme can apply an additional color theme, including Classic (black), Bloom (blue), Agave (green), and Rose (red). These theme settings are found in the Zoom client Settings on the General tab, under the Theme heading.

Themes, when applied, change the appearance of both the Zoom client and the meeting interface. Only participants running Zoom version 6 or greater will see these customizations to meetings applied by the host, however.

Some buttons may have moved from where you may remember them being. Features or options that appear to be missing can likely be found by selecting More (three dots). Items within the More menu can be dragged and dropped back out to the main toolbar.

The Meeting Information (shield) icon has moved from the upper left to the upper right corner of the meeting interface, now next to link to meeting View options. As before, clicking this icon will display information about the current meeting ID, host, link, and other details.

The new meeting interface now provides useful new View options, including a Multi-Speaker view, available during meetings of more than five participants. When selected, the Multi-Speaker view adapts the layout to emphasize the most recently active speakers, while keeping other participants in a smaller gallery.

Participant reactions now optionally include more dynamic animated emoji effects. When one uses the React feature with several common emojis, the Send with Effect option will produce animated versions of the reaction, with emojis appearing and floating up and around the user. React now also offers a wider variety of standard emojis.

Hosts can restrict the use of emojis in their meetings in their Zoom personal account Settings. (Go to Settings, then choose Meetings and In Meeting (Basic), then scroll to the Meeting reactions heading.

Be aware that some new collaboration features, which Cornell users may see mentioned in Zoom promotional and support materials, have not been implemented at Cornell. These include Mail and Calendar, Phone, and Zoom Clips.

The new Zoom AI Companion features, which allow an AI-powered assistant to provide summaries, chapter headings, highlighted topics and talking points, and participant action items from meetings and cloud recordings, are not currently available, but are under review by Cornell IT governance for future use.

We had an old version of zoom installed on all of our computers. I recently replaced the old version with the new MSI version of Zoom but wondering how we should go about getting the old version uninstalled from the users laptop and then have the new version installed. I thought to just add all users to both the required assigment group along with the uninstall assigment group, but feel like this would casue an endless loop of uninstalling and reinstalling. is there a correct script to add within the command line argument?
I know the package works since I imaged a new laptop and the correct version of zoom was installed through intune onto the new laptop.
Thanks for any advice

Note:
Use of the clean uninstaller will completely remove the Zoom client, as well as the Zoom plugin for Outlook. The Outlook add-in, Chrome/Firefox extensions, and GSuite add-on are unaffected.

i downloaded zoom.us and i can't open it because it doesn't support on macOS 10.13.6. but on zoom's web it says their minimum requirement on mac are macOS X with macOS 10.9 or later. can anyone help me??

very similar except that when I try to download zoom client (from zoom website) safari just closes. I tried the oldest version in the sert you suggest and this time safari just hangs up. Anybody know any way to tell zoom about this?

Thanks for the suggestion. I tried that first and found it only gives you access to their knowledge base or their amazingly useless chatbot (called, I believe, Dolt). Neither of these was any help. There seems no way to actually provide any input to them about problems with their software. Also, the only way to talk to anybody is to be a paid customer and since all I want is the client app, I'm not one of those. An interesting model for end-user relations.

I did find though that the Apple app store has the zoom client for iPad and iPhone - just not for the iMac. Maybe Apple knows it doesn't work and so won't put it in the app store? I tried the iPad one and it seem to work. It's just not the device my wife wants to use for zoom!

Thanks for your thought - not sure I really want to try another browser though - unlike Windows where you can use pretty much anything, my experiences of Apple indicate that some non-apple product may work today but tomorrow is another story entirely. They produce nice products but backwards compatibility is not their strongpoint - not even with their own products!

When I enter in the app Zoom Meetings, I can't go to the profile or the initial page because it requests an update, a 5.15.5 or higher version, but the Zoom website show me Zoom Workplace version 6.0, but when I download and try to enter , the same version appears and the same thing happens (the update request). What do I do? I need to record my classes.
