I am a recent left foot, great toe amputee, and would like to get in
contact with the group in the hopes of trying to construct a
prosthetic myself.
Thank you, Nik Dhillon

Hi Nik-

You can check out www.openprosthetics.org for a DIY community...where
are you located?

Best,

Andrea

Another is called 'instructables' one of the best sites for DIY
enthusiasts.
But then Nik, think about it...if you plan to wear enclosed shoes,
then you really do not need a prosthesis that looks like a real
toe....however if you are doing this, because you plan to wear open
footwear, then it may be worth the while.
Probably the easiest way for you would be to find a suitable
donor....that will enable you to skip the prototype stage...there is a
lot more to do for a good fit, like replicating the part of the foot
where the toe is missing...let us know if you have any idea of how to
proceed further...if not then you need a step by step list of things
to do and another list of resources.

Since Nik is not a member, I will have to copy these replies to him.
If anyone has an objection, please say so now.
