I'm trying Anaphraseus on NeoOffice for short documents that do not
require a full blown OmegaT project.

I installed the beta yesterday and it looks great. I just had to check
the documentation to solve that annoying "open session" glitch.

I'm seeing that the usual suspects are members of this group too !
Hello everybody !

And thanks to Ole, Sergei and Dmitri for the hard work !

For people who do not know, NeoOffice is a fork of OpenOffice by some of the original OOo project members at Sun where all the contributions are GPLed. It uses a lot of the Novell OOo code too, including the MSO 2007 format filters (which are much better than the standard OOo filters for that format).

Besides for that, the codebase for the latest release is always one version behind OOo and so the version I'm working with at the moment is NeoOffice 3.1.1 patch 0:

http://www.neooffice.org/neojava/en/index.php

And while I'm at it, may I suggest a few modifications ?

Mac has room for Ctrl/Shift/Option/Cmd modifier keys.
The least used in a "traditional" OSX environment is the Ctrl. And the most used is Cmd.

The idea here would be to propose Ctrl and Cmd as separate options because currently, when one choses Ctrl/Cmd the modifier key is in fact assigned to Cmd and keeps users from accessing shortcuts that are otherwise available in Mac applications.

The second suggestion is the position of the Anaphraseus menu. Currently it is installed at the right of the Help menu which is supposed to be the right-most menu in the Mac ecology. It should be at least right at its left.

Also, it seems the beta version does not properly display the shortcuts in the menu. All I have is (Shift + ) for the top 6 items, then (shift + <) (shift + >) (shift + E), then three more empty items and (shift + Q) (shift + R) and (shift + F9) to finish.

I have no idea how many strings there are in the application but I'd be happy to give a hand for French and Japanese localization if necessary (my wife and I own a small translation agency in Japan).

Thanks again for the amazing work !

Hi

To speak true, message about "opened session" is uninformative, and
user getting confused about it.
Now we add mentioning about now exactly to close session (Translation
session is opened for <DocumentName>. Please close it first (with
"Finish Session" button).

Idea about button separation for Mac is great, but I need Mac keyboard
codes for Ctrl and Cmd to implement it (And I afraid this codes have
equal values in OOO).
I'll check it.

The shortcut issue should be fixed in Daily snapshot, which could be
found here http://sourceforge.net/projects/anaphraseus/files/Daily%20Snapshot/Snapshots/

We already had French localization by Yves Moy, but Japanese sounds
good :-) . I'll send you invitation in our localization project, if
you don't mind.

Best regards, Ole
