----------------------------------------------------------Dear Friends,We are very close to June 4th and we are as excited as you for having a wonderful time together! Volunteers, children and staff are all enthusiastic and have been working hard on the various aspects of the run organisation. We are looking forward to host wonderful guests at our home!BIB PICK-UP: The last opportunity for BIB pick-ups is on June 3rd, Saturday (http://anandayana.runnershigh.in/faq/ ). If you fail to pick it up on Saturday, you won't be able to take part in the event and the fee CANNOT be returned. There is NO EVENT DAY PICK UP and NO EVENT DAY REGISTRATION. EVENT DAY: On June 4th, Sunday, the reporting time for all categories at Ananda Yana is 6:00 A.M. Please note that you will have to park far away from the starting point if you come any late and have to walk a bit more. The various start times are indicated in the website - ( http://anandayana.runnershigh.in/ananda-yana-categories-and-start-times/ ). After 6:35 A.M, the start line will be CLOSED for ALL categories. EVENT DIRECTIONS: Most of you will be driving more than usual for the run on Sunday, June 4th. You can get the driving directions and map from the link on our website - http://anandayana.runnershigh.in/event-details/directions/.EVENT PARKING: We have made parking arrangements close to the venue. There will be volunteers to guide you. Please refer our website for more details on the parking arrangements - http://anandayana.runnershigh.in/event-parking/CARPOOL HELPLINE: Volunteers have come forward to help with coordinating carpools for those willing to give/take rides. This is a welcome volunteer initiative towards making this a green event. We need your support towards increasing the green quotient of the event. If you are able to offer rides to other runners and/or if you are willing to share rides with other runners - we encourage you to fill out this form - http://anandayana.runnershigh.in/carpool-requests. We will try our best to pair all the carpool runners.
Please fill out the Carpool Form early. This gives us the best chance to find you a carpool. Please submit all carpool requests positively by Saturday, June 3rd, 05:00 pm. We will not be able to help beyond that.
TIPS: Here are some tips to ensure that you have a pleasant experience -
1. Start much earlier - put in a buffer of 20 minutes to your expected travel time. Target to reach by 5:50 A.M and don't target the start time - you will be in for a surprise if you come late as you will have to walk a longer distance from parking area!
2. Pack light - Don't leave valuables etc. at the baggage counter. If you travel lighter, you have one less thing to worry about.
3. Please don't litter - try to avoid plastic - wrappers etc. If you do get plastic into the start/finish area or the route - please use the trash bags. It is NOT good etiquette to throw it on the route or anywhere in the start/finish area.
4. Take care of your BIB - The BIB is your pass for breakfast, a surprise gift and also a token for your own baggage pick-up. Please don't throw it and take care of it. Also, at the end of the event when you no longer have any use for it, please drop it off at the BIB drop off counter. We strive for Ananda Yana to have the lowest carbon foot print and this will need your support. The BIB is made from cloth and can be recycled!
5. Be patient and courteous with fellow runners. A smile and a simple request is usually enough to get folks to give you way. Similarly, be conscious of whether you are giving way for others who might want to move ahead. It is NOT good etiquette to walk 3-4 abreast on a running route.
6. Enjoy the run! This is NOT a race with others. Running pushes you and helps you transcend barriers. Enjoy this process and its not about competition with others, but discovering yourself! Spare a smile, high five kids, yell out to volunteers...thank everyone who is giving you a great time at the run!
Thanks,
Ananda Yana 2017 Team.
