Subject: [RH coaches] Ananadayana 2016 Volunteer Feedback Summary
To: runnershigh_coaches <
runnershi...@googlegroups.com>
Hi,
We got only 16 responses for this feedback though the number of volunteers were much more.
The feedback is diverse, some overlaps and quiet a few stand alone. Summary:
1. What went well
- Collaboration between co-coordinators was good
- All volunteers were on time and were aware of their roles
- Registration process enabled by Eventshigh went smoothly
- Tremendous support from Snehacare home and Ananya
- Minimal garbage generation
- Good awareness on social media, print media and radio
2. What could have been better
- Couple of feedback on this, in general last minute changes and demands put a strain on other teams. Example: Catering dept making last minute changes to number of benches, photographers being ferried to their locations by patrol team. Generally, a little more co-ordination across teams will help in the long way
- BIBS:
- Several runners were running with BIBs in hand, it had torn at the pin-hole, requirement for metal lined pin-hole
- Many BIB distribution volunteers didn't turn up as expected, this put a strain on the distribution team
- BIB recycling: The BIBs were required at baggage counter, goodie counter and breakfast but the BIBs were already given away for recycling. This caused some level of confusion. BIB recycling should be at the exit.
- BIB distribution: Though the distribution dates were announced, several calls came in later towards the end of the day, do we need a central location or extend BIB distribution time
- Aid station
- Requirement for base taps and jugs, two each at least
- Requirement of tables and not benches from the school, the benches were too low. Table transportation would require a tempo
- Bananas ran out quickly, we need more as it was consumed by volunteers too
- Discuss on cutting down electrol or limiting it 10k runners only.
- Signage to tell runners not to put the glasses to their mouths, many runners were doing this.
- Catering
- Quality of food and beverage was mediocre
- Need to add at least another food item
- Was hiring of plates and spoons from the NGO workout? We spent on the donation plus the cleaning. Caterer would have done this as a whole
- More water required for cleaning, dusty and used spoons were not cleaned as well as expected
- Water dispensers brought by caterer was cloudy and had streaks of yellow on the inside. Hygiene cannot be lost because of our green initiative.
3. Roadmap/Suggestions for next year
In addition to resolving and working on the points above, some key points would be
- Functional website tested on mobile devices, this edition it did not render well on mobiles
- Integrated payment gateway within our website, we don't want visitors leaving the site, we could use the same for RH registrations
- BIB distribution timings and centres. Do we just go for a single central location? Pre-print names on BIBs?
- Seating arrangement for Elders, children and women.
- Handover aid material to aid teams a day prior.
- Cut electrol budget in half and allocate to bananas?
Regards,
Ravish
