Sannyas Centenary of Beloved Papa Swami Ramdas

You might be aware, it was because God decided to reveal Himself in Beloved Papa Swami Ramdas that he was prompted to leave Mangalore on the 27th of December 1922, throwing himself entirely at the feet of God, which severed his connection with the erstwhile life as Vittal Rao and commenced his itinerant life. But for this occurrence in 1922, this Ashram would not have come up and we would not be here. This Sannyas Centenary Year, 27th December 2021 to 27th December 2022, is therefore a solemn occasion for all of us to remember him with reverence and gratitude, and make a resolve to hasten our march towards Him. Keeping this in mind, let us observe this Sannyas Centenary Year.
It is found that Beloved Papa’s experiences during his itinerant life, chronicled in the first book, IN QUEST OF GOD (IQG), will serve as a life-manual for spiritual aspirants as well as devotees when they are confronted with inner and outer conflicts, challenges and commitments. Therefore, the focus for the Centenary Year programmes will be on an in-depth study of this most inspiring book.
To ensure that the above text-study does not remain as a mere intellectual exercise, it is keenly felt that the participants:
(1) take to the chanting of a minimum of 5 malas (500 Japa) per day,
(2) bring in the God-dimension behind every activity in their daily lives in the form of a touch of love, a touch of reverence, a touch of gratitude and a touch of perfection in every thought, word and deed, and
(3) develop communion with the indwelling God by way of a dialogue with Him, at least for a short time daily.
These steps will surely trigger our attempts to deeply dwell on God-remembrance, which is the pivotal theme of IQG.
A Special Satsang session will also be held on the first Sunday of every month, starting from January 2022, on the text — IQG — through Google Meet; details of which will be shared in due course.
