This is a rare opportunity to join Te Papa’s Art Curatorial team.
You will work closely with others in the organisation to:
· provide curatorial leadership for contemporary art research, exhibitions, publications, collection development and programmes
· maintain strong relationships with key contemporary art stakeholders in particular artists, curators, dealers, collectors and benefactors
· provide stewardship for the contemporary art collection as a key decision maker for the ongoing care, documentation and use of this collection.
The Toi art team are currently consolidating their programme of research outputs including exhibitions, publications, and acquisitions to further build on their recent successes in the Toi Art galleries, and with Te Papa Press. The position holder will input into reshaping the future strategy for art at Te Papa, and will also become the curatorial lead on a major Time Based Media Art initiative that aims to conserve, research and future proof Te Papa’s approach to its TBMA collection.
Deadline: 31st July 2023
