Hi everyone,

I’m delighted to announce that the Australian Institute of Art History will be hosting Dr. Priya Maholay-Jaradi, Convenor for Art History at the National University of Singapore, for two events on Wednesday, 23 September 2026 at the University of Melbourne. 

In addition to her public lecture, Dr. Priya will also be running a postgraduate workshop seminar. All are welcome to join the workshop if you're available next Wednesday morning if you're in Melbourne. I've attached the flyers for your perusal.

Drawing on her recent book, Dr. Maholay-Jaradi examines a landmark 1959 donation to the University of Malaya Art Museum, exploring how objects and photographs shaped the teaching of Asian art history amid decolonisation, Third World solidarity, and nation-building.
