The inaugural disorient: An Asian Australian Studies Winter Intensive is a three day workshop designed to build a community of emerging scholars who share a desire to activate Asian Australian studies as a critical scholarly apparatus in their research.
Taking place between July 8-10 at Deakin Downtown, disorient will host in-person, close discussions on a group of texts with the aim of further developing Asian Australian Studies and the capacity of researchers within this field.
We invite applications from PhD students + early-to-mid-career scholars, but any researcher (incl. MA and Honours students) interested in the program and willing to participate is welcome to reach out to Scarlette or the organising committee.
disorient is free to attend. A small number of travel bursaries is available to assist students and precariously employed scholars to participate in the Intensive.
