Dear AN4AA Community,

 

It is with deep sadness that I write to share the news that Professor Kavita Singh has passed away.

 

 

Many among us will remember her enthralling presentation An Embarrassment of Riches: Indian Architectural Exhibits at the V&A in the Sydney Asian Art Series earlier this year.

Kavita was an extraordinary scholar and a generous friend. Her rigorous and incisive scholarship enriched our discipline, as did her fierce commitment to critical analysis in the face of repressive academic administration and retrogressive polity in contemporary India.

 

Her absence will be deeply felt by many.
