We are seeking a late-stage PhD candidate or recent PhD graduate with an interest in Asian Australian history to join us at the Australian Historical Association Conference, ‘Changing Minds’. The conference will be held at Macquarie University in Sydney between Monday, 29 June and Friday, 3 July 2026.

The theme, Changing Minds, asks us to consider how we can adjust, rework, or overturn our own interpretations of history. Our panel will explore new approaches to Asian Australian history. We’re particularly interested in collaborating with those working on the post-1945 period who utilise the analytical framework of Asian Australian studies in their work. Through the panel, we hope to introduce new and original historical work that complicates Australia’s Asian past.
