Subject: Open Call for Sigg Fellowship 24/25
You don't often get email from siggfel...@mplus.org.hk. Learn why this is important
M+ Museum in Hong Kong is pleased to let you know that we have launched an open call for research proposals for the Sigg Fellowship Chinese Art Research 24/25 and we would be honored if you could let your students know of this research opportunity.
Research Theme:
The Sigg Fellowship is an M+ programme held every other year since 2019 to support new research on Chinese art. The research focus of the 24/25 edition is to reassess the relationship between art and sites in Chinese contemporary art from the 1990s to early 2000s. We hope that researchers can focus on areas and cases that have not been fully explored in the current art historical discourses and consider questions such as how sites inspire new forms of artistic expression, how changing urban spaces create tensions and new understanding of art creation, and how local and international theories influence site-related artistic and curatorial practices.
Eligibility:
We welcome applications from undergraduate and postgraduate holders with three years research experience and there is no age and nationalities requirements. The awarded fellow will be awarded a grant of HKD200,000 to cover all research-related costs and have an opportunity to access the M+ Collections and archival materials both onsite and online, deliver a public talk, and publish research essay on M+ official website.
Interested parties can send their proposal to siggfel...@mplus.org.hk. The closing date is 2 December at 23:59 (HKT).

Thank you for your kind consideration and help in sharing the Sigg Fellowship.
Yours Sincerely,
