Dear all,

A reminder that our Southeast Asia’s Art Histories Postgraduate Online Symposium, The Merry Sounds of Hammers, is taking place on 27 and 28 October 2025 (Monday and Tuesday, 7PM - Midnight AEST).

This symposium brings together emerging scholars from across Southeast Asia and beyond to share new research on the region’s artistic and cultural histories. It's a pretty exciting lineup of new research in our growing field, narrowed down from a pool of 60+ applicants.

Many of the presenters are also currently undertaking or have completed postgraduate studies here in Australian institutions of higher education, and I hope we can be there to support the interesting work that they do.
