AMURT Charity Jumble Sale

to raise funds for

Myanmar School Reconstruction Program

on

Sunday, 8th March 2009 (9am - 4pm)

at

SJK (C) Sg. Way, Jalan SS9A/1, Seria Setia, Petaling Jaya
(next to Sg. Way Police Station)

Activities at the fair include 60 bargain stalls and delicious foodstalls (including vegetarian food), free medical check-up, children’s art competition, magic workshop, children’s art & craft sessions, line dancing, foot bath & foot massage, etc.

Proceeds from the sale will be used to rebuild schools in the Myanmar’s delta region. These schools are among the 1,600 destroyed or damaged when Cyclone Nargis hit Myanmar in May 2008, leaving 100,000 dead and 400,000 homeless. The reconstructed schools will also act as cyclone and earthquake shelters for the people and be able to withstand winds up to 100mph and earthquakes up to 6.5 on the Richter scale. (Please note all funds raised will be completely managed by AMURT/AMURTEL, with externally audited transparent accounting open to interested parties. No funds will be passed on to the Myanmar government.)

We urge the public to join us at the Charity Fair this coming Sunday. Come and enjoy the delicious food we have prepared for you, grab some great bargains on vegetables, sundries and other daily household items, get your blood pressure and blood sugar level tested for free, relax with a foot bath or foot massage, line dance to get some exercise - in other words, HAVE FUN and help the poor children of Myanmar at the same time! Children will be thrilled to get the chance to learn fantastic magic tricks at our Magic Workshop or to make decorative items at our Arts & Craft Corner. Young artists are challenged to produce their creative best at our Art Competition for children 3 - 12 years old. There is something for everyone in the family, so COME ONE & COME ALL!!! (Save the Planet message: to help reduce waste and save the environment, please bring your own shopping bags, food containers & eating utensils! Reduce, Reuse, Recycle!)
