Greetings from AMTOI.
We are directed to inform you that the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways has issued General Order No. 1 of 2026 dated 21.01.2026, prescribing revised requirements along with a three-month transition period for stakeholders to adapt to the new framework.
As indicated in the Order, the online web portal for chartering/licensing of foreign vessels is operational at:
👉 https://esamudra.dgshipping.gov.in/In this regard, the Directorate General of Shipping (DG Shipping) has scheduled a Familiarisation / Training Workshop for stakeholders to facilitate understanding of the process for obtaining licences for foreign vessels chartered for specific trade.
