Subject: Appeal for Support and Cooperation for Symbolic Chakka Jam in Delhi–NCR
from 21st to 23rd May 2026
Respected Sir(s),
We wish to draw your kind attention towards the serious challenges presently being faced by the transport industry due to certain harsh and anti-transport policies being implemented in Delhi-NCR.
The transport fraternity is deeply affected by:
· Excessive and unjustified increase in Environment Compensation Cess (ECC).
· Proposed ban on entry of Euro-4 vehicles into Delhi w.e.f. 1st November 2026
· Collection of ECC even from Euro-6 vehicles
These measures are creating immense financial burden and uncertainty for transport operators across the country.
In view of the above, AIMTC, along with the support of 62 transport unions and associations of Delhi-NCR, has decided to organize a joint agitation and symbolic truck chakka jam on 21st, 22nd, and 23rd May 2026 in Delhi-NCR.
In this regard, we earnestly request your esteemed association to extend its wholehearted support and cooperation to this movement. It is also requested that all members of your association and connected transport operators may kindly be informed and advised not to load or dispatch Delhi-bound vehicles during the aforesaid dates.
This issue is not confined only to Delhi-NCR. The policies being enforced today in Delhi may tomorrow be extended to other parts of the country as well. Therefore, it is imperative for the entire transport fraternity to unite and collectively safeguard the future of the transport industry.
Your valuable support and participation will greatly strengthen this movement and help convey the concerns of the transport sector effectively before the Government and concerned authorities.
We
sincerely hope for your positive response and active
cooperation in this common
cause.
With warm regards
