It has been brought to our attention through reliable sources that several companies are hiring young professional cricketers for the tournament. This destroys the very essence of camaraderie and team spirit among members and it is an unfair advantage to those teams indulging in such activities.
Please send out a clear missive that this is not permissible and anyone caught doing so will be barred for 5 years from ACC.
In addition, we would require the last six months' salary slips of all participants in order to prove their employment in the organisation.
If anyone feels differently, please put in your views immediately or else we have to action the same asap !

Dear Xerrxes,
If some senior staff are playing, they would definitely not be comfortable with their salary slips being shared. Moreover, salary slips can be easily arranged if an organization so determines.
At this point, I’m unable to think of a fool proof mechanism. I think for now we should just stick with a letter of undertaking from every company stating that all team members are their full-time employees. I’m sure no genuine company would want to get caught and embarrassed on such a small matter.

While I am in agreement with the proposal, I have always believed that all instructions to the Secretariat should ideally come from the HS, so as to avoid any confusion. That said, such actions should preferably follow a brief discussion with the OB and be communicated formally by the HS.
I would also like to reiterate my view that, in the same communication, we may consider allowing member companies to collaborate where they lack the required team strength. Given the paucity of time, I would leave the decision on this matter to the OB for now. However, going forward, it may be worthwhile for the MC to deliberate on this subject and establish a clear policy for the future.

As we prepare for the upcoming AMTOI Cricket Carnival, we would like to reiterate the spirit and purpose behind this initiative.
It has recently come to our notice that in certain tournaments organised by other associations, some participating companies had engaged temporary staff who were professional or semi-professional cricketers for the purpose of competing in the matches. Such practices create an uneven playing field and result in an unfair competitive advantage over other teams.
We would like to emphasize that the primary objective of the AMTOI Cricket Carnival is team building, camaraderie, and strengthening bonds among employees of our member companies. The event is intended to promote interaction, networking, and goodwill within the industry — not professional competition.
In this context, AMTOI sincerely requests all participating organisations to ensure that:
Only bona fide employees/staff members of the respective companies participate in the tournament.
No temporary hires or professional cricketers are engaged solely for the purpose of participating in the matches.
Such instances would defeat the basic purpose and essence of this team-building exercise.
To maintain transparency and fairness, we request every participating organisation to submit a declaration confirming compliance with the above guidelines prior to the commencement of the tournament.
We trust in the cooperation and sporting spirit of all our members and look forward to a memorable and enjoyable Cricket Carnival.
