Key Highlights of pan India performance are given below and detailed in Annexure A (Executive Summary).
PAN India Highlights of January 2026:
· PAN India dwell time performance improved by 15.5% in the import cycle, while a decline of 2.4% was observed in the export cycle compared to December 2025.
· In the import cycle, the number of containers handled across PAN India increased by 5.8% year-on-year compared to January 2025. Similarly, January 2026 witnessed a 9.5% month-on-month rise in container volume compared to December 2025.
· In the export cycle, container volume rose by 7.9% year-on-year compared to January 2025. Additionally, January 2026 recorded a 5.8% month-on-month improvement over December 2025.
· Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT), JNPA, emerged as the top-performing terminal for January 2026.
· Adani CFS Eximyard, Mundra, was identified as the top-performing CFS for January 2026.
· Dronagiri Rail Terminal CFS, Navi Mumbai, ranked as the top-performing ICD for January 2026.
Western Region:
· The Western region’s port dwell time performance improved by 19.7% in the import cycle, while the export cycle recorded a decline of 3% compared to the previous month.
· In the import cycle, the container count decreased by 8.7%, while export cycle registered a rise of 7.1% in container volume as compared to December 2025.
· Container movement in the export journey during January 2026 recorded a 9.6% year-on-year increase compared to January 2025.
· Bharat Mumbai Container Terminals (BMCT), JNPA, emerged as the top-performing terminal in the region for the month.
· JWR CFS was recognized as the top-performing CFS in the region for the month.
Southern Region:
· The Southern region’s port dwell time performance improved by 10.8% in the import cycle, whereas the export cycle also recorded an improvement of 4.9% compared to the previous month.
· In the import cycle, the container count increased by 12.5% compared to December 2025; similarly, the export cycle registered a 0.9% increase over the same period.
· Container movement in the export journey during January 2026 recorded a 5.5% year-on-year decline compared to January 2025.
· Chennai Container Terminal Pvt. Ltd. (CCTL), ChPA emerged as the top-performing terminal in the region for the month.
· Sical CFS, Chennai, was recognized as the top-performing CFS in the region for the month.
Eastern Region:
· The Eastern region’s port dwell time performance deteriorated by 1.4% in the import cycle; similarly, the export cycle also recorded a sharp decline of 22.3% compared to the previous month.
· In the import cycle, the number of containers handled in the region increased by 9.1%, whereas the export cycle recorded a 4.7% increase compared to December 2025.
· Container movement in the export journey during January 2026 recorded a 24.2% year-on-year improvement compared to January 2025.
· Syama Prasad Mookerjee Port (SMP) emerged as the top-performing terminal in the region for the month.
· Transworld Terminals CFS, Kolkata, was recognized as the top-performing CFS in the region for the month.
