the summer is long gone, schools have started again, STEIM is gearing up for
the festival Patterns+Pleasure at Frascati at the end of the month
(http://patternsandpleasure.steim.org/), and the SuperCollider user meeting
will be back on September 14!
This season we want to start with spending the first hour on tutorials on
specific topics.
The topic for this month will be about writing SynthDefs. What can you do
inside a SynthDef and what not, what UGens can be used for what, how does this
multichannel expansion really work, how can I figure out what is actually
going on (debugging and introspection techniques) inside the SynthDef I'm
writing?
The tutorials should be accessible for beginners, but also give some
additional insights to intermediate users of SC.
As usual, the meeting will start at 19h00 at STEIM, Achtergracht 19.
If you have any specific things you'd like to present after the tutorial, like
your latest performance setup, the project you've just started on, or anything
else, let us know!
Also, if you have any specific problems you're running into, and would like to
look into that together, let us know too, so we can all think about it
beforehand.
If you'd like to give a tutorial at one of the next meetings, also let us
know! Or if you'd like to get a tutorial about a specific topic... let us
know!

The meeting is open to anybody who wants to come, free of charge; there will
even be drinks available for a minimal charge.
lazily coded synthdefs sounds like an interesting topic to follow the
tutorial!
