Reignite amsterdam.rb

Hi guys,

There's not much happening on amsterdam.rb lately, even though I'm
sure many people are in for meetups, talks and beer.
I'd like to get it off the ground again, as I believe the Amsterdam
Ruby community is an amazing community able to achieve a good presence
and momentum regarding collaboration and sharing.

To start off, my goal is to organize the next evening prepared with
talks, pizza and beer somewhere in may.
My idea is to have a well planned evening with talks, pizza and beer
every three months, and drinkups each month in between.
So I'm asking you what you'd like to see come out of it and/or whether
you'd like to participate in any way.

For now, let's get together for drinks on monday january 16th in De
Bekeerde Zuster.
As it is easier, I've created a meetup.com group for this and upcoming
meetings.

Hey Dax,

Nice idea. But...monday the 16th is quite a long time from now... ;-) You probably meant something else.

How about Lunch Meetups - Are there people in for lunch meetups?

Hey Guys,

I would love to get this off the ground again, I have been too busy to
do it myself and am drowning under work at the moment, so the more the
merrier.

I can give others access to twitter and admin on google groups. I also
have a new website design ready to go live.

Personally I am not a fan of meetup.com, it makes me want to stab my
eyes out.

I won't be able to meetup this month, but would love to meet for
drinks next month and figure out how to give Ams.rb life again.

It is true that the group seems to be dormant, I think Josh is working on a new website but indeed it's been forever since our last drinkup. I like the idea about lunch meetings but the limited timespan might be an issue for the ones that work outside the center.

Great initiative! The meetup thing really helped to galvanize the Utrecht.rb group, quite a few new members showed up.

On that note: The Utrecht.rb is still going strong, Monday 5th May we'll have a hosted event. I'm still working on the details and location but we'll have some lightning talks and beers . If your interested in talking at the event please contact me. More soon!

Thanks everybody for being at the meetup last evening. It was very
nice to see everybody again and I had some really interesting talks.
For the people going to RailsBerry tomorrow, have fun and see you
