Hello,

Ifremer presents a new version of its staff directory. It offers three access levels : general access (http://annuaire.ifremer.fr), direct access by laboratory, unit or department (see example) and individual access (see example).

Bibliographies are automatically generated from full text deposits of Archimer, the Ifremer's institutional repository. And Archimer records offer systematically links to CVs of authors employed by Ifremer (see example).

This directory adds another value to Archimer. Many comments were made from Ifremer staff, unanimously positive. Since its presentation, many scientists add their production into Archimer to display an exhaustive bibliography on this directory. It’s sounds like an effective initiative to get more full text documents into Institutional Repositories !

Kind regards,
Fred

Good job Frederic ! We should aim at this in the open archive HAL. Researchers are expecting this type of service.
Cordialement
Thierry

All –

As is practised widely, people connect their institutional repository to a CERIF-CRIS (Common European Research Information Format – Current Research Information System).  There are many examples in Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Netherlands, UK, Greece, Slovakia, Czech Republic etc etc.  The latter provides highly structured metadata on all aspects of R&D and the two systems together provide a very effective way to manage research, evaluate research and publicise research (including generating webpages, CVs, bibliographies).    Details on CERIF at www.eurocris.org
