Ladies and Gentlemen:
Dr. Lou Birta, Professor Emeritus at the University of Ottawa (lbi...@site.uottawa.ca), publishes “M&S Magazine” on behalf of the Society for Modeling and Simulation International [SCS] (www.scs.org). Dr. Birta has a longstanding interest in simulation conceptual modeling; and he is proceeding to add a feature denoted: “Conceptual Modeling Corner” as a component of future issues of M&S Magazine.
As he has indicated in the Editorial Page of the July issue (http://scs.org/magazines/2010-07/index_file/Files/EiCMessageJuly10.pdf); the intent of this initiative is to generate some lively discussion and debate in future issues of the M&S Magazine about the nature and intent of a conceptual model.
In order to stimulate discussion, he has posited a ‘sample-problem’ outlined in the July issue of the M&S Magazine (see: http://scs.org/magazines/2010-07/index_file/ConceptualModelingCorner.htm); and he wishes to solicit from members of the M&S community of practice contributions of a commensurate conceptual model.
Please consider Dr. Brita’s invitation to review his ‘sample problem’ and contribute commentary relevant to realizing a representative conceptual model suitable for publication in future issues of the magazine’s “Conceptual Modeling Corner” feature.
Regards,
Bill Waite
