Dear friends,
We are planning to go for trip to some good natural tourist spot. After seeing some spots near Chennai, I have chosen some 3-4 spots, Like Yelagiri, Yercaud, Hogenakkal, Tada fall etc.
By seeing the distance from Chennai and better place to spend the time for one day, Yelagiri seems to be the best option.

Yelagiri is about 250km by bus and it will take some 5 hours journey from Chennai. The date of journey would be on March 11th (Friday) night, so that we can reach there early morning of Saturday.
We will start from there (Yelagiri) on saturday night, so that we can get back to Chennai on Sunday early morning.

Bus fare will be around Rs. 500 per head depends on the number people coming for the trip. We'll let you know the charges and arrangement for food later.

Yelagiri is a beautiful place in southern India and is located among the hills on all sides of it. Its a beautiful hill station with pleasing environment and fine climate and the place is fabulously wonderful in the winters. Highly populated with tribals who are chiefly engaged in forestry, agriculture and horticulture along with all other occupations undertaken by the rural people.

A wonderful tourist place where one can enjoy the charms of traditional life in the lap of the mother earth. Huge plains can be seen from the ghat and visitors enjoy using their telescope for enjoying the ethnic beauty which stays spread far and wide. A little risk of the stray animals does persist but one can always enjoy a good time with the tamed ones.

It is a wonderful place for trekking and people generally love going trekking in these hilly areas. Full of wonderful temples on the hilly region, it makes it a wonderful place for the young and old alike. Temple bells add a special mythological essence to the bells and keeps the feeling of life alive even in times of bare silence.

Please fill the spreadsheet if you want to come for the trip as soon as possible. Please tell to your friend of Applied Mechanics dept. in case they didn't get the mail. Follow the link to fill in the spreadsheet.
