Dear all,
The SMT Dance and Movement Interest Group is inviting proposals for 5- to 7-minute lightning talks during our interest group meeting at the 2023 SMT/AMS Annual Meeting in Denver, CO. The broadly-defined theme is “Reflections on Choreomusicological Methodology,” which may include but is not limited to discussions of analysis, phenomenology, embodiment, gender, race, public musicology, disability studies, and pedagogy. We encourage scholars who are relatively new to the field to submit proposals, and mentorship will be available for those who are accepted.
Proposals should be a maximum of 250 words with a maximum of 3 pages of supplementary materials (examples, bibliography, links to online videos), and are due on Sep 1, 2023. Please email your name, title of presentation, and proposal to Matthew Bell at mtbell...@gmail.com. Attach your proposal as a PDF document with any personal identification information removed. Proposals will be blind-reviewed and results will be available by Sep 20, 2023.
If you have any questions, please feel free to contact Matthew Bell at mtbell...@gmail.com. Thank you very much!
Matthew Bell and Amy Tai, co-chairs
