to AMS Music and Dance Study Group
Hello all, and happy Monday!
I wanted to let you all know about some exciting events at the upcoming AMS/SMT Annual Meeting. As in years past, we have organized a schedule with all of the dance events ahead of the conference. If, by chance, we have missed a dance event, please feel free to email, and we will circulate it through the listserv. Additionally, we wanted to draw your attention to two MDSG events! On Friday (11/7), the study group will be holding a lightning talk session followed by the business meeting. Then, on Saturday (11/8), the group will hold a special session led by the University of Minnesota’s Arts & Performing Arts Librarian/Archivist/Curator, Deborah Ultan.
Finally, we are pleased to announce that the AMS Music and Dance Study Group is planning an excursion to the UM Performing Arts Archive on Monday, November 10 (the day after AMS). Deborah has graciously volunteered to assist our group on a tour, as well as pull relevant research materials for projects! If you are interested in attending, I’ve pasted a link to a Google Form to gain a sense of attendance numbers. If you all wouldn’t mind responding to the form by November 1, I would be extremely grateful!
Thank you kindly for reading, and if you have any questions, comments, or concerns, feel free to email either me, Rachel, or Kari, and we will try to respond promptly. We hope to see you soon in Minneapolis!
All best,
Destiny
