Dear B.CLIP Team,
Greetings from B.PAC !
There was an incorrect report yesterday in the page 2 of ET regarding non- functioning & non availability of CCTV cameras in City Police stations.
This report states that ‘only 14 out of 104 police stations have CCTV cameras installed and that at least some of them are on tree tops’. Both these facts are incorrect.
Correcting the facts:
1. 42 Police stations are connected with 126 cameras, 3 per police station
2. All Cameras under this project are installed in the police stations only and are operational
Please find attached joint press release from Bengaluru City Police(BCP) & Bangalore Political Action Committee(B.PAC) – ‘Bengaluru City leads in installing CCTV cameras in 42 out of 104 Police Stations in the city’.
Request you to please share this extensively on your social media, website, facebook and twitter accounts. B.PAC has worked very hard to bring together this project to this stage. Please ensure correct information is disseminated widely.
Supreme court recently directed all police stations to have CCTV facility and BPAC was way ahead in thinking about this 1 year ago.

Revathy
