KUMBHABHISHEKAM – 2016

Dear Sri.. Anand Vasudevan,

Greetings from SRI RAMAKRISHNA BHAJAN SAMAJ – SRI RAM MANDIR.

Sri Ramakrishna Bhajan Samaj was formed on the auspicious day of Vijaya Dasami on 1st October 1968.  In 1973 the Samaj was able to acquire a piece of land at Bangur Nagar, Goregaon and the Bhoomi Pooja for the Samaj building was performed at the Holy Hands of H.H. Sri Sankaracharya of Dwaraka Peetham.

In 1983, the Samaj constructed a temple and installed therein the presiding deity Lord Sri Ramachandra Moorthy with his consort Sri Seetadevi, Lakshmana and Aanjaneya as well as a separate sannidhanam for Aanjaneya. The installation of the Lord Vinayaka, as well as the installation/consecration of all the deities was performed by Br.Sri Ganesha Shastrigal of South India Bhajan Samaj, Matunga, Mumbai.

In 1999, the construction of a magnificent Rajagopuram, which adorns the entrance of the temple, now identified as Sri Ram Mandir was completed. This was followed by Mahakumbhabhisekam in the year 2000, in the benign presence of Jagadguru Sri Sanakarcharya H.H. Jayaendra Saraswati Swamigal and H.H. Sri Sankara Vijayendra Saraswati Swamigal of Kanchi Kamakoti Peetam.

With the enormous progress over the years, the Samaj has been conducting various religious functions, notably Sri Ramanavami, Sastha Preeti, Navaratri, Pratishta Day celebrations, etc., in a befitting manner, apart from Gansh Chathurthi, Gokulashtami, Thaipoosam, Skanda Shashti, Sivaratri, regular Saturday Bhajans, Thirupugazh bhajan on Shashti days and Bhagavati Seva in the month of Aadi. Several homams are performed during Ramanavami and Navaratri festivals and various bhajan programes are conducted throughout the year inviting eminent bhagavathas and scholars in this field. Annual feature of the temple is the celebrations of Radha Kalyanam, Purna-Pushkala Kalyanam and  Valli Kalyanam A number of devotees recite Vishnu Sahasranamam, Lalitha Sahasranamam both the morning and evening regularly. Besides on Ekadasi day, the devotees render Abhang Bhajan and Veda parayanam by scholars. Mahanyasa Rudrabhishekam is conducted regularly on all Pradosham and Sankatahara Chathurthi days.

The Samaj also extends medical assistance to the needy and educational aid to deserving students, mass feeding at regular intervals, besides rendering timely help and assistance by its devoted volunteers to perform cremation and Aparakriya.

According to the laid down practice and as prescribed in the Sastras, Kumbhabhishekam of a temple needs to be performed for every 12 years. The last Kumbhabhishekam of Sri Ram Mandir was performed in 2000.   You will be pleased to know that at the last Annual General Meeting of the Samaj, it was proposed to conduct the Kumbhabhishekam of Sri Mandir in 2016, the month and date for the same will be finalised soon. This is a divine and mammoth function for which elaborate advance preparations and arrangements needs to be done with the active participation and support of all devotees.  To discuss various aspects relating to this function, we have scheduled a well wishers meeting on  28th June 2015 (Sunday) at 10.00 am at Sri Ram Mandir.   We would request you to kindly make it convenient to attend the meeting and participate in the deliberations with your valuable suggestions. “SRI RAMA JAYAM”.

In the services of Lord
