Namaskaram

Kindly see mail from Sri Radhakrishnan along with Youtube Link.

I dont have words to express after seeing this excellent video on the Go Seva.

Kudos to Sri Radhakrishnan for the yeomen service for GOSEVA.  Heartening to note about retrieval of 100+ cows which was about to slaughtered.

Very Happy to see the cows now in Goshala which is one of the favourite subject of Sri Kanchi Mahaperiyava.

I hereby urge all members to visit this Go Shala which is in Mathuranthakam near Chennai.

I also request to Sri Radhakrishnan to share the bank details so that we can contribute whatever possible for this great effort.

Pranams

Dear Shri. Anandji,

Thank you for sharing the details of Govindan Goshala in your e-magazine Amrita vahini's newsletter.
I was blessed to visit the home for the beloved creatures, many of whom showered lot of love on me & my friend
when we called upon Mr. Radhakrishnan, in his Kingdom on the last day of November.

I was very happy to meet a Great responsible Being, whom Kanchi Paramacharya would have been very pleased to note that his words are being sincerely & devotedly been put in to Practice by The Gosevak ( as Mr. Radhakrishnan would love to call himself). Mr. Radhakrishnan introduced us to all the lovely creatures- cows & bulls in the four sheds, who survived the knife of the butchers & are very happy to be introduced to the visitors. It is a rare sight for me to see so many animals wanting to exchange their love with the gosevak at the same time. Even the other four legged species, five dogs, we could spot in the residence of the Gosevak were so pleasant that we could feel that this is a unique place which is fully open to the sky & filled with Loads of love permeating every cell in the atmosphere. Here the other human beings we met were also very pleasant.
The 200 odd Cows, Calves & Bulls are the prime focus ( carefully chosen native cows- Chenagalpattu breed which are native to this region & used to this climate) & organic agriculture is being practiced in Sprawling 40 acres of land as a connected activity of this Goshala. One of the rare practice in this Goshala is, every day cows are being taken for natural grazing for nearly 6 hours instead of just feeding them in the sheds. Nature aspirants, divine seekers & agri enthusiasts - this is a place to visit & fill yourself with love for the universe.

I am also blessed to visit another divine place, just like govindan goshala, where destitute animals are being taken care of, here is a place in Thirunindravur, which is also close to Chennai, called SEVALAYA ( many of the magazine's readers may be well familiar with), here I could visit , home for Aged people, who couldn't be taken care by near & dear, are very well taken care without even charging a penny & that too Sevalaya doesn't prefer Senior citizens who are having any earnings. They are running the home for the destitutes & hapless Senior citizens who are not able to fend themselves at their ripe age.
Sevalaya runs proper schools to as many as 2000 under privilleged students from the rural villages with Hostel facilites.
Guided by the Principles of Swami Vivekananda, Mahatma Gandhi & Mahakavi Subramaniya Bharathi - Sevalaya teaches the values of Dedication & devotion to the Young minds.

Sevalaya has two acres of farm for organic farming to get healthy food for the inmates, a Goshala & Responsibly gets nearly 70% of the electrical needs from Solar Panels.

I am happy to see two institutions run by two dedicated Responsible human beings, standing for their values & committed to serve the needy, literally putting into practice all the divine teachings of the many divine masters of this great portion of land in this universe.

Amrita varshini is one platform, where all the good amritas can be poured to give more confidence & meaning to all the skeptical souls, who doubt whether dharma can persist in this time of Kali yuga. Here is the answer on how to live a life for others & spread the love & happiness, Shri. Radha Krishnan of Govindan Goshala & Mr. Murali of Sevalaya stand very tall by their Nishkama karmas.

Best Regards

S. Krishna Kumar

Dear Shri Salem Iyer,

Mr. Radhakrishnan is practically giving an answer by his actions more than words.
The message is clear - what we all do now is to act & not to expect someone to react.
The supreme consciousness will re-create the ambience you are looking for.
May be 60 years have gone by where our lifestyle has started changing & will keep changing.
Every house had a cow 60 yrs ago, now it is not the case now.

Now quality matters the most than the quantity.  My suggestion is don't worry or bother about those who are not ready to hear you. After having Vibhuti if you are able to radiate energy around you, people will start following you.

Even Mr. Radhakrishnan is not selling the milk got from the cows-it is mainly used for temples around his place.
He doesn't expect any other villager in his village to do the same, who are rearing cows mainly for selling milk.
Everyone in this world has come with different levels of maturity, each one's perception of life is also different.
We cannot work like a modern day scientist to give one solution for all. Some people have to come to receive from the world
& very few have come down to give. Nishkama Karma is the only practice all acharyas are prescribing for living in peace with one self.

Best Regards

S. Krishna Kumar

If I may add to the mails on this subject - Govindan Goshala stands out for the simple reason, that it is acting as one of the last sanctuary for the local beed cows in the Chengelput belt.

True to Dharma, he is focussing all the energies in local breeds - very consciously avoiding Jersey's Frisians and other foreign breeds.

In the state where cow is venerated with a seperate festival - Mattu Pongal, the local cow breeds are becoming rarer and rarer to find. Umbalachery of delta, Kangeyam of Kongu Belt, Malai Maadu of Dharmapuri, Punganur of Vellore are becoming rare and rare and may be close to extinction.

It is in this background that Govindan Goshala stands out.

Let us remember go samrakshanam is about protecting Indian breeds - and in TN protecting local breeds - when we think of Vibhuti or Milk abhishekam or Varattis for homams or Go Dhanam or Go Puja - think of Indian breeds.

There are very clear researches which have established that Indian breeds cows urine has medicinal properties, urine and dung are better suited for organic cultivation and that milk is also better (Google for A1/A2 milk).

I hope and pray that the Asthika community sheds its indifference to this basic point - (keeping its eye blind to the Indian cow and treating a foreign breed as being suitable for prayer and protection). Without ghee and varatti or vibhuti or milk from Indian breeds we may still do grand prayers but whether they create that vibration or please the lords, I don't know.

A few months back, a few of us launched a campaign for promoting Vibhuti made from Country cow dung. Intention was to support those goshalas involved in protection of local breeds. Response has been fairly tepid, why - our famed indifference.

Or as someone said, Hinduism has gone global, crossing the seas is now commonplace, so don't bother. Well atleast, I don't buy this argument.
