Short and Moral Story for the Day

"TODAY IS MINE" The Parable of the Empty (Throne Seat): " A Simhasanam" 

 

In a quiet and fertile village, atop a hill, stood an ancient throne carved from stone and looked good and can be used conditionally. Every morning, villagers would climb the hill just to spend time and bow before it—and wait in hours without doing any good for themselves for a king who never came and there is no sign of the King coming and doing any good to them either.

One day, a wandering Monk arrived at the Village and the hilltop. He noticed the daily routine Seeing the villagers gather, he asked, Three simple Questions

1. Why do you kneel in front of an empty seat? 

2. Why is nobody occupying the Throne?

3. Above all Why are you  not using the Fertile Land to cultivate and get benefit.?

They replied, “This Throne is considered holy and prestigious and we await the Rightful one (The King) who can claim the throne.”

The monk smiled and without any hesitation and not giving any time sat upon the stone. The crowd gasped, becoming speechless.

However, an elderly person after a few seconds questioned the Monk “Who gave you the right?” asked the eldest.

The monk closed his eyes and said, “No one gave it. After hearing you and seeing the unused Throne I simply realized and thought today which is unclaimed by none and I assumed it today is mine.”

It may be Noted the Monk asked Three Questions and The Villagers in turn instead of answering to him again raised one question by asking the monk how and why occupied the Throne. These two Question delivered a Great lesson to villagers the answer for the remaining 2 Questions and the duty and karma of Villagers the meaning of thought "TODAY IS MINE"

From that day on, people stopped waiting, further not wasting time by Sitting in front of the Throne without doing any work and started working for themselves and society too by understanding the importance of time and doing their work on their own.

They tended their fields, helped one another, sang songs, and sat on the throne whenever they needed courage.

The Moral of the story is Having Self-confidence using the available and given Opportunity, thank God for the time given and use the time for good to Move Forward.

ஒரு நாள், ஒரு அலைந்து திரியும் துறவி கிராமத்திற்கும் மலை உச்சிக்கும் வந்தார். கிராமவாசிகள் கூடிவருவதைப் பார்த்து, அவர், மூன்று எளிய கேள்விகள் கேட்டார்.

1. காலியான இருக்கைக்கு முன் நீங்கள் ஏன் மண்டியிடுகிறீர்கள்?

2. ஏன் யாரும் சிம்மாசனத்தை ஆக்கிரமிக்கவில்லை?

3. எல்லாவற்றிற்கும் மேலாக, வளமான நிலத்தை பயிரிடவும், பயனடையவும் நீங்கள் ஏன் பயன்படுத்தவில்லை.

அவர்கள் பதிலளித்தனர், "இந்த சிம்மாசனம் புனிதமானது மற்றும் மதிப்புமிக்கதாக கருதப்படுகிறது, மேலும் அரியணையை உரிமை கோரக்கூடிய உரிமையாளருக்காக (ராஜா) நாங்கள் காத்திருக்கிறோம்."

துறவி சிரித்தார், எந்த தயக்கமும் இல்லாமல், எந்த நேரமும் கொடுக்காமல் கல்லின் மீது அமர்ந்தார். கூட்டம் மூச்சுத் திணறி, வாயடைத்துப் போனது.

துறவி மூன்று கேள்விகளைக் கேட்டார், கிராமவாசிகள் அவருக்குப் பதிலளிப்பதற்குப் பதிலாக துறவி எப்படி, ஏன் சிம்மாசனத்தை ஆக்கிரமித்தார் என்று கேட்டு மீண்டும் ஒரு கேள்வியை எழுப்பினர் என்பது குறிப்பிடத்தக்கது. இந்த இரண்டு கேள்விகளும் மீதமுள்ள 2 கேள்விகளுக்கான பதிலையும், கிராமவாசிகளின் கடமை மற்றும் கர்மாவையும் கிராம மக்களுக்கு ஒரு சிறந்த பாடமாக அளித்தன. "இன்று என்னுடையது" என்ற சிந்தனையின் அர்த்தத்தையும் கற்றுக்கொடுத்தன.

அன்றிலிருந்து, மக்கள் காத்திருப்பதை நிறுத்தினர், மேலும் எந்த வேலையும் செய்யாமல் சிம்மாசனத்தின் முன் அமர்ந்து நேரத்தை வீணாக்காமல், நேரத்தின் முக்கியத்துவத்தைப் புரிந்துகொண்டு, தாங்களாகவே தங்கள் வேலையைச் செய்வதன் மூலம் தங்களுக்காகவும் சமூகத்திற்காகவும் உழைக்கத் தொடங்கினர்.

அவர்கள் தங்கள் வயல்களைப் பராமரித்தனர், ஒருவருக்கொருவர் உதவி செய்தனர், பாடல்களைப் பாடினர், தைரியம் தேவைப்படும்போதெல்லாம் அரியணையில் அமர்ந்தனர்.

கதையின் தார்மீகம் என்னவென்றால், கிடைக்கக்கூடிய மற்றும் கொடுக்கப்பட்ட வாய்ப்பைப் பயன்படுத்தி தன்னம்பிக்கையுடன் இருப்பது, கொடுக்கப்பட்ட நேரத்திற்கு கடவுளுக்கு நன்றி செலுத்துவது மற்றும் முன்னேறுவதற்கு நேரத்தை நன்மைக்காகப் பயன்படுத்துவது.
